Part 3 of my Jaffa Cake adventure

Since I wrote part 1 and 2 of this Jaffa Cake article I have searched several international markets and specialty shops in the Chicago area. Not necessarily still on a feverish quest for Jaffa Cakes, but I like those kinds of stores. So while I'm checking out the imported wines and spices I've also been making it a point to check the "biscuit" aisle for McVities brand Jaffa Cakes. Although I've seen several McVities products I never saw their Jaffa cakes. Denied!
Fast forward to summer 2009. My pals and I took a trip to the spectacular Disney World in Orlando Florida USA baby! In the Epcot Center park are areas dedicated to capturing the simulated essence of various nations from around the world. They call this the "World Showcase" and it is by far my most favorite place in Disney World. One of the nations represented there is of course the United Kingdom. "Certainly they will have Jaffa Cakes there" I told myself.

I found a shop called "The Tea Caddy." It was awesome! Full of all kinds of great teas, cakes, biscuits, digestives and a lot of McVities products. But...I was shocked to see that even here not the Jaffa Cakes by McVities. I was going to get to the bottom of it once and for all.
I found an adorable little Brittish lady with a quant accent and a sweet smile. I asked her if they had McVities Jaffa Cakes.
"Oh no sorry love we don't carry those," she replied.
"But...why not? They still make them right?" I said with a small tear in my eye.
"Oh my of course they still do dear. They just don't import those to the states anymore."
My hopes dashed, I paid for my boxes of Earl Grey and Chai teas and sulked out of the store. Still I made sure to heartily thank the kind lady for solving the mystery for me at last.
Perhaps I won't be able to try the McVities until I visit the real London. So until then, stiff upper lip ol' chap.
