Love of the Brick
Like most kids in America I had Lego growing up. But it wasn't until I became an adult that I truly began to appreciate Lego as something more. I admire that it is a system of precise measurement. All the pieces must be made with a particular high quality grade of plastic in order for it to be hard enough to keep its shape. That's why Lego is rather expensive. But beyond the quality I admire how this system is so versitile and each brick can be connected to the others in a myriad of ways.
Nowadays as well as enjoying collecting Lego sets I also use Lego as another artistic media. I love using Lego to stimulate the problem solving portion of my brain. It's a great way to improve your creativity and broaden your imagination no matter what age you are. I especially like the challenge of building large animal sculpture in Lego. Taking something with mostly flat edges and forming round organic forms it tricky, but the end result is very interesting.
Below are many photos of my current Lego collection. I have well over 90 lbs of Lego here! I have over 100 minifigs now, tons of special pieces, complete sets, base plates and of course loads of basic bricks too.
As you probably know by now I'm a perfectionist, which is a trait shared by most transhumanists but not a prerequisit. Because of this I love organizing things. My Lego are fastideously organized into seperate trays sorted by type and color. Part of the fun for me was developing a system of storing them all.
Well hope you enjoy all the pictures below. First here are a few other links you should check out.
